CHEESY GROUND BEEF PASTA SKILLET

 


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

½ teaspoon pepper

2 pounds tomato paste

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 onion, chopped

½ c. chopped parsley, plus more for garnish

1 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes, optional

2 c. shredded mozzarella

2 c. Ziti pasta, cooked

salt to taste

How to make Cheesy Ground Beef Pasta Skillet

Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the pasta a minute less than al dente. Set aside a half cup of the pasta water and drain the rest once the pasta is done but do not rinse.

Step 2: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the beef and cook for about 2 minutes until brown, breaking the meat up using a wooden spoon. Then, adjust the heat to medium heat. Season the beef with 1 tsp salt and half tsp black pepper.

Step 3: Into the skillet, add the garlic, onions, chili flakes, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, parsley, and ½ c pasta (or plain) water. Stir well and let everything simmer for about 8 to 10 minutes or until tender.

Step 4: Add the pasta into the skillet along with 1 c mozzarella. Stir well and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Put the lid on.

Step 5: Before serving, garnish the cheesy ground beef, and pasta skillet with extra parsley. Enjoy!
